Daryce Durand Van Hoff

What have I been up to since 1970? Sometimes I think, what haven't I been up to? I went to college, got married, moved to Key West, Fl and El Paso, Texas, divorced, raised two beautiful, intelligent (of course) daughters who make me proud, and have good lives of their own (even a granddaughter to dote on, and another coming soon) traveled to Europe, started a bridal decorating/consulting business, continued to practice dental hygiene for 37 years, moved a house, survived two major floods, and am excited to greet each new day... wow, am I proud of myself I could have used all 8,000 of those allotted "characters" to share how amazing life has been since graduation 1970.... never a dull moment then... and never a dull moment now. Maybe, a quiet moment or two when I sit on the back porch and look out over the six acres of beautiful trees, I call mine and watch the wildlife wander through....life's been good.

High school was just such a fun and simple time... that there are many good memories.... but the one that stands out happened in the spring of 70(?) could have been '69... The Winnipeg band and choir was coming down for a concert and some of the Central group wanted to have a party with them..... and did we ever.... my parents were always so good about letting us have kids out..... we bought cases of pop and bags of chips.....this doesn't sound so outstanding, but we had about 150 kids at our house... and the real kicker? I wasn't even in the band or choir!

Any one remember the day student council was going to raise money by raking yards and then we were going to have a bonfire at my house.... think it rained most of the day... but, we were undaunted.... we gathered boxes and burned them after the football game.... and, no, my dad never did figure out where the garage brooms went... I think we burned anything that wasn't nailed to the house that night.
