Friends say Donald Walter was an excellent teacher who was concerned about his students. The veteran math teacher at Cavalier High School died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1989, in The United Hospital, Grand Forks. He was 37.

Don and I went to Cavalier out of college and both taught math. He stayed when I moved to Wisconsin.
