I'm sure glad I grew up in North Dakota. It was a pretty reasonable place. Of course at the time I was somewhat bitter because I knew other people our age were doing cool things elsewhere like surfing. North Dakota gave me a good grounding though. I really miss people from the midwest and look forward to seeing you all.

I was thinking this morning about one funny thing I remember...those dances by the light of the pop machine in the lunchroom. Also awkwardly dancing to Stairway to Heaven when that endless riff happens toward the end. Not really fast, not really slow. An 8 minute song. You better like who you're dancing with.
