After HS graduation, I moved to Kansas with my family. I attended Wichita State University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. Shortly after graduating I met my husband Tom Cella. We were married in January and moved to the Chicago area the following July, where we lived for the next 25 years. During that time we had two great kids and did all of the things that families do. I finally used my teaching degree when my youngest started Kindergarten. I subbed in our school district for the next 4 years and then started teaching full time. I have taught Kindergarten for the past 11 years and I absolutely love it. After both our kids graduated from HS and one graduated from college, Tom and I were looking forward to the next chapter in our lives but life had other ideas. Tom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 2 1/2 years ago. He fought bravely for 8 months before the cancer won. He passed away in November of 2007. It was a huge loss for all of us. Our son is in the Air Force stationed in Japan. He recently got married and they are expecting their first child. My daughter moved to Boston this summer to start a new job. She is working in a medical laboratory. I'm not sure exactly what she does but I do know that she enjoys it. With my children off starting their own lives it was time for me to start over as well. I recently moved back to Kansas to be closer to my family. I am currently looking for a new teaching position but if one doesn't open up then I will once again sub in the schools until one does.
