Howdy People,
Quick ? for you all............ Did we have Senior skip day? and Senior prank? if yes when and what was it?

My Daughter is trying to come up with an idea for a senior prank. She was thinking of posting pictures of the principles (there is 3) all over the school. Not resent pictures either maybe younger pictures LOL! Thanks Tam

Dennis Cutshall (Breitwieser-Cutshall)

I remember there was an 'unofficial' senior skip, but I don't think I did it. I think I did make my own, on my own day though. LOL! I don't remember a 'senior prank' at all, but I may have missed it. I know I missed the senior picture on the stairs.

Greetings from Saint Paul,

Time for another reunion update as we are less than three weeks away from the reunion weekend! RSVPs continue to roll in and it is great to see many traveling from outside the region to attend. Since the last update, Gene Freeman, Todd Sellheim and Mike Marshall will be coming from Texas, Eric Odegard and Joe Rubin from Florida, Scott Carlson and Deb (Nesbit) Sclair from Washington, Matt Manz from Idaho, and Gerry Johnson from Colorado. Please see the complete list of those attending both days of reunion events and just Friday night. If you don’t see your name on the list, please email Darin Barker.

Thanks to Scott Carlson that posted a pretty in-depth update on his life since high school and interesting to learn that now the General of all Iraq operations allowed him to get an early release from the Army in 1997! James Esslinger recently updated his profile as well. Tough life to live 12 years in Sicily with Navy. I wonder if there are any Mafia connection through his Sicilian wife……joking James. Mike Marshall recently updated his profile as well spending some interesting time between Austin, Texas and Cork, Ireland. It has been great to see the detailed updates on folks and what they have been up to the last 20-years. Congrats to Shawn (Jeanotte) Egeland as her daughter recently competed in the Prairie Rose State Games and did quite well in Figure Skating to include qualifying for a national tournament next year. Other recent updates are from Charys (Knaus) Kunkel, Stewart Milakovic, Todd Sellheim, and Jana (Gunderson) Monroe.

A reunion T-Shirt is available through the efforts of Merissa (Missy) Sachs. If anyone has questions about ordering online for reunion merchandise please let her know. All orders will receive confirmation. You can pick up at the reunion or product can be mailed to any address. Thanks – Merissa The weblink to the site is http://www.companycasuals.com/GrandForksCentralHighSchool/start.jsp

Last chance to secure a tee time to golf! There are still available tee times for those interested in golfing on Saturday. Please email Jen (Wilhelmi) Dorsey at jdorse@microsoft.com by Wednesday, July 30th to secure tee time or for more information.

Lastly, the Make A Difference planners are requesting all visit the class website to vote for a charity to donate in the name of GFC Class of ’88. Approximately $300 has been donated so far for a worthy cause.

If anyone has any questions about the reunion at this point, please feel free to let myself, Darin, Kathy, Randy, or Michelle Kadlec know. It is still not to late to get an RSVP in with payment. Please contact Darin to let him know your plans.

Regards,
Vic

It has been fun reading about all of you. This website is awesome & I thank all involved in creating & maintaining.
I really wish my family & I could attend the reunion but we had already made our vacation plans last year & then decided to change them based upon rising airfare & a soon be new addition to our family this November.
I was just recently in GF in late June & July - I drove across country from WA with my 3 boys - 6 & under to see all of our family in MN & ND. It was a great 3 weeks but I really didn't get to connect with anyone from high school. There were some mishaps along the way - me spraining my ankle very badly & my eldest had chicken pox while we were there. All in all the trip was good. To all of you attending the reunion have a great time enjoy catching up & renewing friendships as well forming new friendships. Take care!

Sorry to hear you can't make it Tracy! Hope you have a good trip, though!
You know, I decided to top off my tank today since gas dropped 20 cents. And the total came to 19.88, how weird is that?

Dennis Cutshall (Breitwieser-Cutshall)

Only 8 days left until the reunion and there are still 148 missing (Location Unknown, not necessarily 'lost') students! I know Rhonda Knight hasn't registered but is doing well. Does anyone know about any of the other missing students if we can't convince them to join this awesome site? :-)

08/03/08 10:41 PM #186

Michelle Kadlec (Pettigrew)

Well, I must say that Judd Pearson has the two BEST pictures on his profile that I have EVER seen! All of his pics are awesome, but being a SIOUX fan...these are priceless!! Check them out!

08/03/08 11:04 PM #187

DeDe Lanes (Coltom)

I agree, LOVE the pictures. Now that I live in Minnesota most of my co-workers think I should automatically become a Gopher fan. Not ever going to happen!!! I bleed Sioux green so much that I had the Sioux logo tattooed on my ankle. GO SIOUX!!!!

08/04/08 09:31 PM #188

Terrie Birkholz (Dusek)

Hi everyone! I wrote here a lot when I first learned about the site and then got busy dealing with other things... like children and work, work, work. But I've been reading the entries and enjoying all the wonderful comments from our classmates. It was nice seeing you a few months ago, Kathy! You do look great. You have always been a beautiful woman. We all have insecurities. As we age, I've realized we all go through similar things in our own unique, individual way. It hopefully gives us strength, determination, and wisdom.
Also, Kathy, I'm writing because I've been out of town for two weeks and I'm having trouble registering for the night at Sanders. So since I'm still out of town, I'm writing to let you know that my husband and I will be attending the evening at Sanders. By the way, it's a good deal. We go there about 4 times a year and spend about $250 for both of us for appetizers, a bottle of wine, the meal and dessert. I love the escargot!! It is so good. I might be able to figure out how to pay on line. Otherwise, I'll mail the check or bring it to you that night. I get back on Thursday and will get a hold of you or figure this out. We are in Duluth for a summer vacation and I'm trying to enjoy myself and take care of other things at the same time. Lake Superior is so beautiful at night. We sit along the rocky beach and listen to the waves. It's so neat. I look forward to seeing those who come out that evening!

08/05/08 06:25 PM #189

Kathy Gillies (Barker)

Wow! We are only three days away from the reunion - uff dah! Thanks Terrie for the nice comments. If you don't remember Terrie, Darin and I worked on the 10 year reunion together.
Terrie we have you and David down for Sander's - enjoy your vacation. We look forward to seeing you and everyone else on Friday and Saturday.
Marilyn Hagerty from the GF Herald contacted us about our reunion for an article. Vic and I both responded with information. Watch the GF Herald for her article.
See you all soon. God bless.

08/06/08 12:22 AM #190

Deb Nisbet (Sclair)

Well, the minivan is packed and we'll be off to GF in the morning. Poor Jack (our youngest) turns 3 tomorrow and gets to spend his birthday in the carseat! Hopefully lollipops will help. :)

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. A HUGE thanks to Kathy, Darin, Vic, Randy, Michelle K., Merissa and everyone else who helped make this reunion and website happen!! (I'm sorry in advance if I forgot someone!!)

See you soon!

Darin Barker

Well, we're now over 90 RSVP's for Saturday night, which is pretty good IMO considering where we were a few weeks ago. Please review the list above if you're not sure whether you're on it.

There may still be room for up to 100 if anybody wants to register by tomorrow afternoon. Otherwise, you are more than welcome to join us at Sanders after 10 p.m. We are asking for $5/person from anyone who won't be there for dinner to help cover the costs of the dj. Thank you.

08/07/08 03:40 PM #197

Dennis Cutshall (Breitwieser-Cutshall)

You know, I took a drive around GF, and as Kathy so eloquently put it "oof duh"! I nearly got lost several times! I was unable to find Sanders (apparently I had passed it several times, I hope I can find it by saturday), but was able to find Whitey's, did not expect it to be in EGF. So much has changed! Thank you, google. LOL

08/07/08 11:08 PM #198

Darin Barker

Guess what? Thanks to my dad, I've actually located a copy of that tape that people were asking about a few months ago where most of our senior class individually spoke for a few seconds about their high school careers and what their plans were for the future. It's actually surprisingly in pretty good condition for an old vhs tape. I'm going to have it converted to dvd, and if anybody would like a copy, I'm sure that can be arranged.

08/08/08 12:15 AM #199

Jennifer Bures (Hodny)

OMG! It's time!
Bags are by the door, hope to be on the road by 8 am!
I'm so glad to hear others are nervous! I'm incredibly nervous. Not sure why.....
See you all tomorrow!!!!

Tammy Finck (Rothenberger)

So I meet up with Kathy tonight we have arranged Danielle my olest whom is 17 to help out with the picnic. since kids want to play at playground and someone needs to watch the kids but were all here to catch up also, what to do??

Danielle and a few friends are going to help watch the kids. Sell icey's, maybe soda, play games and just help out. There will be a tip jar since Danielle is trying to earn enough money to go to the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. She would be dancing. Only 3 of the girls on the central dance team were asked to attend. So please enjoy the picnic on saturday. Thanks Tammy

Shelamar Henderson

Tammy,
I am very proud of your daughter. That is a great accomplishment. I look forward to helping her attend the parade.

Further, I am looking forward to meeting up with everyone tonight. This morning when I woke up I looked at my daughter and realized the next time I will be attending a class reunion she will be preparing to enter her senior year of high school. Life has a way of flying by to fast. I plan to savor every moment of this weekend and each day that follows.

08/08/08 10:05 AM #202

Dennis Cutshall (Breitwieser-Cutshall)

Darin,
Bloody great news, chap! I would definitely require a copy! :-)
Only hours to go now. See ya'll real soon now. Hopefully the weather holds up for the picnic!
