Laurie Burnett Powers

I moved to Seattle in 1988 and did not get to graduate with all of you friends at Central... I graduated from Kentridge HS in WA and then proceeded to Western WA Univ until 1993 when I received a degree in Corporate Recreation/Fitness and minor in Business. Seemed like a great idea at the time to pursue a degree in fitness but all I ended up finding was a 'kindof' mgmt job at Gold's Gym. I worked there for nearly a year before a superb opportunity surfaced - opening an athletic club/health center for Seafirst Athletic Club in downtown Seattle - times there were great... I spent a couple years at Seattle Yacht Club which was also a good experience. I finally landed a computing related job at Boeing back in 1997 and the rest is history. I live with my husband and two daughters in Covington. We have a 9 year old German Shepherd, a 2 year old Rottweiler, a parakeet and a couple of fish - it's a very busy home we run! I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me - I have really fond memories of my three years at Grand Forks!

Lots of them - will need to put some thought into how I write about each. The major points that come to mind are being referred to as a 'baser' and making that horrid drive in the middle of winter on that little highway... I think my first speeding ticket was within a month or so of getting my license.
