I'm now Dr. Lyn DeLorme and I've left North Dakota. I work at the University of Minnesota and enjoy traveling with my husband and fellow GFC alum, Jared Verke. See you all soon!
What I wrote in 2008...
Hooray for life after high school! Oh for the days when such frivolous cares were monumental...does anyone see the giant zit on my face? Will he ask me to the dance? Can I make the print bigger so that my essay is two pages?
Twenty years has flown and look at all the amazing things you all have accomplished - beautiful children, careers, loving marriages! They forgot to tell us that the best was yet to come. Hooray for what we all have become!
As for me, the last two decades have been full of dramatic changes and challenging events. I always felt out-of-sorts and shy as a teenager, and didn't enjoy school until I started college. After graduation, I went on to complete a degree in design in Fargo, but then decided I really wanted to be a teacher. I came back to Grand Forks and got my degree in education and worked for the Grand Forks Schools until I landed a job at UND. After several years in education, I fell in love with technology and went on to complete a Master's in Instructional Design and moved on to a job at UND Aerospace developing educational software. Now I'm in Fargo, working as a trainer and consultant with distance education faculty at NDSU and enrolled in a doctoral program. I guess you could say I'm addicted to school.
Now I am ready for the next chapter of my life. I can't wait to see what the next twenty years will bring!
