I attended UND - played Rugby, majored in Math and French, was an RA. I met my husband just before the start of my sophmore year and decided within 3 days to marry him (best decision I ever made!) It took him a little longer to get on board with that plan. :) We did get married in 1994 while we were both working on our master's degrees.
In 1995, we moved out to Washington State. I got a PhD in an obscure (though I find fascinating) area of mathematics called topology. We had our daughters during that time. I finished my thesis, just after our second daughter was born and it didn't take long of me trying to teach a full load for us to realize it was time to stay home with the kids. (Second best decission I ever made!)
In 2001, my husband took a job with Intel in Massachussets. We moved out here and really love it! It was hard to leave Washington and we go back frequently to visit my family. These days I am a Girl Scout leader, tutor, Sunday School teacher, chauffer and any number of other things.
No surprise I have many memories around math class - like Mr. Larson getting so fed up with me talking to everyone he sat me next to that he put me in the hall!
I remember throwing an eraser at Eric Lehman during English class for some smart mouth comment he made to me - the only problem, he ducked! I ended up hitting poor Pete Ryan smack in the middle of his forehead - chalk dust all over his hair and face. He was amazingly sweet about it and contitnued to be friendly toward me - though I did notice a certain twitchiness whenever he was in my vicinity that hadn't been there before.
I remember working in the Chem Lab with Beth Moran 7th hour! Very fun and most likely dangerous - it is amazing they let us in the room in that beautiful new building with all the chemicals, bunson burners, etc. They must have had a heck of a good insurance policy.
I remember so much more - cross country and track meets, soccer and volleyball games, dances, construction, but mostly the time spent with friends!
