Who is in charge of intertainment? What is the plan for sound system for Sat night? will there be access to power?

I would be happy to do the emcee stuff. It's part of what I do for a living. Have they contracted anyone for sound yet? Let me know what the bids are and what the budget is. I might be able to bring one of my sound systems with CD machines, etc and wireless mics for the event. Here are a couple of thoughts for activities

1. Let's Play the Fued - We do a take-off of the Family fued, with Red River 81 vs Central 81. Each team would be made up of 6 alum from each school, representing the direent cliques (Jocks, Cheerleeders,Brains, hoods/outsiders, music/drama, & Student goverment.
I would get together the questions and answers to the survey and we would play a game like the regular game was played. "One hundred RR & Central Alums were asked ; What was the best song of your seniour year; top 5 answers are on the board. etc... Winning team wins A Grinder from the Pepper or something.

2. Name that song - i could prepare a list of 50 song :05-:07 sec hooks from songs from 79, 80, & 81.. they would play one after with just a short pause in between. That would take about 10 minutes tops.. Then everyone would exchange papers and we would announce the answers. Person with the most right wins a prize and maybe a trophy.

Let me know asap so I can start working on stuff for the program.

I was also planning on gathering a bunch of 1980's audio clips to put between the songs which will bring back memories of movies, shows, news stories, etc.

If you guys don't want this kind of stuff, let me know. Just brainstorming. If I'm going to make the trip, I might as well put some effort in.

Dude, you're like a one-man show.  Way to step up and offer your talents.  I hope I can attend, as I would love to play the trivia game; I am a big ol' DORK!  Also, I really like Grinders.

Thanks.. looing formward to seeing everyone.

Is there any sort of Golf or tennis outing planned?

Greg:  Your plan sounds great.  I hope the committee considers implementing at least part of it.

Met a college kid at the minor league BB game, a Fighting Sioux Fan from Wisc, his mother is from Grand Forks, went to Red Red River, a girl who I've known since grade school, a girl who tripped me in the second grade  causing me to break my front tooth. I met Beth Kieffer's son Dirk, apparently Beth just moved here to Cedar Rapids. It's a small world after all. Crazy.

Greg: What great ideas you have. At our 30 year reunion we need some fun activiities to keep us going (and staying awake). I hope that the committee considers some if not all of your ideas. We would have a great time. Thanks for being so considerate in offering your services!
