Lamse, Paul Roger 4/22/1943 - 1/14/2018 Maribojoc, Bohol, Philippines Paul Roger Lamse, age 74 died in the Philippines on January 14th, 2018 where he lived his last 16 years with his wife Beth. He was born in Grand Rapids and attended Christian High School where he was one of their star cross-country runners. He continued his love of running throughout most of his life. He was also a gifted table tennis player. He played competitively and was well known within that community, throughout the Great Lakes region. Many will remember him for his love of jokes, for which he was never in short supply. He will be missed by his four daughters, Pamela (Ron) Kozicki, Kimberly Lamse, Brenda (Marc) Leshay, Tanya (Sinan) Kazaz, his seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded by his son Paul Roger Lamse Jr.
Boy do I ever remember this person! He and I ran Cross Country and Track & field together. He was always way out in front and I was way out in the rear!
I remember car pooling to the cross country meets in my '51 Chevy. Running barefoot at the CC meets at Indian Trails Golf Course, Kalamazoo & 28th Street. CC Team winning city, regional and 2nd (?) at State. Remember Paul also from church. Quiet and unassuming. He said he got his running abilities "from eating Wheaties!"
