Life is still good at the Kramers but things did take a bit of a turn. Lisa found out recently that she has Parkinson's Disease. She now joins the ranks with the likes of Michael J. Fox. Although she has had symptoms for years there has always been an excuse for each one and we never put them all together. There is no cure and only one drug that is effective for about 10 years and it only masks the symptoms it doesn't slow the progression. With that in mind we have decided to go all natural, giving up processed foods, white flour, white sugar, no preservatives and as chemical free as possible. Basically eating whole foods as close to how God made them as possible in hopes of giving my body every advantage to funtion, remain stable and possibly even improve. We are grateful to God for His faithfulness, for life, family and friends. God is good - all the time.
Lisa is a stay at home mom and loves her life. She has home schooled all her kids since they began kindergarten - two of which have graduated. The family likes to go camping at Silver Lake where they enjoy skiing, tubing, and taking the dune buggy on the dunes. The kids have been very active in Ottawa County 4H and show at Berlin Fair. Don and the boys like any kind of boat; they have made several wooden kayaks, Don still has the jet boat he bought when he was 18, they have a 1963 Rayson Craft which is a classic racing boat and some day plan to complete the restoration of a 1947 Chris Craft Custom Runabout. Lisa stays busy with life at home and church; she loves to bake, do home canning, has entered a few cooking contests and has done rather well, and cooks each Wednesday when their church members get together for supper and Bible study. The family enjoys music also; they perform together at jam sessions, nursing homes and churches. Everyone plays a bluegrass instrument; Don plays banjo, Lisa plays the stand-up bass, Tracey plays the mandolin, Donovan plays guitar, Molly plays the fiddle and Dylan plays the mandolin. God has truly blessed us.
