Annette Rose Burton, 59, passed away Sept. 18, 2021, at her home in Great Bend surrounded by family. She was born on June 7, 1962, at Great Bend to Jesus “Jay” Lopez and Helen (Phillips) Lopez. She married Kevin Burton on May 7, 1983, in Great Bend. 

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Annette was a bookkeeper for Lumpy’s Bar & Grill, Damm Body Shop and Estes Trash Service for many years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Annette enjoyed traveling with her friends, playing pitch and giving others a hard time but she especially loved to spend time with her family. 

Survivors include, her husband, Kevin Burton of the home; a son, Aaron Burton (Taree); a daughter, Keshia Causey (Jason); her mother, Helen Schremmer, all of Great Bend; a brother, Nathan Lopez (Carolyn) of Sun City West, Ariz.; and four grandchildren, Corbyn, Harper and Aftynn Causey, and Harley Dougherty. She was preceded in death by her father, Jay Lopez; her stepfather, Earl Schremmer; and mother and father in law, Irvin and Carolina Burton. 

Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021 at Bryant Funeral Home, with Altar Society rosary at 4 p.m. and Vigil service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Interment will be held at the St.Joseph Cemetery in Beaver, Kan. following services. Memorials have been designated to St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
