I am very sorry to hear that Karen has passed. I am sorry I lost touch with several people.  She made me smile and I'm glad I knew her.

In our Junior Year, I was SO surprised to see Karen at Wichita North High!  Her and I were the only other persons there from GB, (except a teacher.)  I had only slightly known her in GB and then was only able to see her at lunch at school in Wichita. She was beautiful! She had a stunning, look and was tall like a model. I knew she had been through a rough life in so many ways, but she still had a heart of gold! She was confident and would stand up to the mean girls and not be walked on by them, braver than I! (There were some very scary ones in Wichita!) I remember seeing her that last day of school 1979!
