Since graduation...
Went to Madison to be an engineer, and decided that engineering wasn't my calling, but that instead I needed to be doing social justice work.
Met my wife in our masters degree counseling program and worked for a few years helping people with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder get out of institutions and get jobs in the community as a better means of treatment.
Got married and moved up to Appleton to live near our families, and helped get the Boys & Girls Club - Fox Valley started up.
In 2000, founded a non-profit coffeehouse that works for social justice (Harmony Cafe), and helped start up our community's Multicultural Center, which is co-located with Harmony Cafe.
Had our first daughter Emmalea in 2002, and had our second daughter Lucy in 2005.
Working on our second Harmony Cafe now -- which will be co-located with a new Goodwill store up in Green Bay - opening June 19.
Blessed to have a wonderful family. Emmealea is in kindergarten and just loves it. She is one of the gentlest, kindest people I know. Lucy is a spirited little 3 year-old who brings us laughter and joy every day. And mom is a loving, caring, wonderful partner to have on this fun strange journey we are on.
