Dear Class of 1969,
Hope 2025 is starting off to be a good year for each of you.
That includes good health!!

The reunion committee for our 55 th reunion would like to
inform all of you of financial donations our class has made. These
were made possible by generous donations and good efforts to
have a successful reunion weekend at a reasonable cost.
Here is a recap:

We set aside:

$1,000 for our NEXT REUNION,

$750 for our website and domain expenses for 5 years

$650 from our 50 th reunion to upgrade the fieldhouse.

Donations this year include:

$500 to Lynn Moore’s home church’s (Oak Ridge Methodist)
efforts to construct cabins for people in western NC that lost
homes due to the flooding after Hurricane Helene.

$3,000 to the Grimsley Booster Club to help in their effort to
purchase an ATV to use in their activities.

$1,000 to Grimsley Goods which is an effort at school to help
students and their families by supporting a clothing closet and
food pantry. Our donation will insure foods of higher protein and
better value canned goods. Grimsley Goods receives no monies
from the school and relies on financial and in-kind donations to
provide assistance.

Whirlie Classmates,

The Grimsley football team has had an exciting
season this Fall and is undefeated in regular season
play. In fact, the team is undefeated in post season
play and now will play in the state championship
game this Friday, December 20.

Grimsley will play Rolesville High School which
is located near Raleigh. Grimsley did defeat
Rolesville in a game played in the regular season.
We need to beat them again!!! The game will be
played at the UNC-CH Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill
at 7:00 pm. If you are located in North Carolina,
please check your local television offerings for the
game. In the Greensboro area, WMYV will televise
the game. Some Whirlie fans will go to the game
and if you can go, note that we will sit on the visiting
side stands.

Be sure to check our class FaceBook page for
scoring updates during the game and cheer the
team to victory.
