Mr. Charles E. O'Steen
Charles Ermon O’Steen died at his home in Wailuku, HI on Monday, November 7, 2011. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel, 5926 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC. Charles was widely known and well liked on the island Maui, where he was the general manager of Valley Isle Motors for many years. He had lived on Maui for over 20 years, loved its beauty and its culture, and considered it his home. Charles was born November 9, 1950 and grew up in Greensboro, NC where he attended Grimsley High School and Guilford College before graduating from the University of Houston with a degree in Mathematics. He had two successful business careers, one in industrial communications equipment, and one in automobile sales.
Charles is survived by his son Ricky Nguyen of Los Angeles, CA and his long term, loving companion, Jiun Kim of Wailuku, HI, his mother, Emma Nichols O’Steen of Summerfield, NC; his brothers, James Albert O’Steen of Stagecoach, Texas and David Nichols O’Steen of Gaithersburg, Maryland. He is also survived by 2 nephews, 2 nieces, 5 great-nephews and 4 great nieces. Charles will rest near his father, David G. O’Steen, at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Greensboro, NC. |
