Obituary for Jefferson Franklin Pickard Jr.

Jefferson Franklin Pickard, Jr., was born on February 9, 1951, in Greensboro, North Carolina and passed away January 25, 2025. He was preceded in death by his Father Jefferson Franklin Pickard, Sr., his Mother Elizabeth and Brother William (Bill). He is survived by his husband of 34 years, Dayle Bartholow, Neice Ashley Wood and Nephew Owen Pickard and Sister-in-Law, Allison Pickard. 

Jeff graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a degree in Pharmacy. His first job out of college as a pharmacist was with Peoples Drug Store (CVS) in Manassas. He also worked part-time at Prince William Hospital and soon was hired as their Pharmacy Director. He worked there for 32 years before moving to Inova Fairfax Hospital and then finally spending his last 8 years before retiring at Children's Hospital in Washington D.C. 

Once retired he began working as a volunteer with Historic Manassas located at the Train Depot. He enjoyed helping travelers with train tickets but really loved promoting all the business in Old Town. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Jeff will be missed by all of those who knew and loved him. 

Family and friends will gather for a Visitation on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, VA 20110. Funeral Services will then be held at 2:00 PM, with Burial immediately following at the Manassas City Cemetery.
