GREENSBORO — Elizabeth Summers Graham, 62, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013, at Fellowship Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.

Elizabeth was born in Greensboro on December 29, 1950 to Lacy Walters and Charlotte Archer Summers. For 31 years she taught elementary school for Guilford County Schools. She was a Teacher of the Year and Terry Sanford Award winner. After retiring, Elizabeth continued her passion by mentoring student teachers at UNC-G. She dedicated her life to educating and helping others, especially children. Elizabeth was a very active member of Fellowship Presbyterian Church; she was an Elder, a Session member, sang in the choir, and volunteered with the youth ministry. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and celebrating all holidays. Elizabeth was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

In addition to her father, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Davis Graham.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Ashley Dyson (Matt); son, Michael Graham (Jennifer); mother, Charlotte Summers; grandchildren, Hank Dyson, June Dyson, and Mason Graham; sisters, Claudia Cotter, Donna Steele, and Kelly Costello; and her beloved dog, Tarheel.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 7, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Chapel.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Presbyterian Church, 2005 New Garden Road Greensboro, NC 27410.

Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel is assisting the family.
