Thanks so much to Mickey McLean for posting Elementary class photos from Ceasar Cone on his "Profile"! I told you... some of us go WAY back and the photos he submitted are truly special! I'd have to dig through my parents attic to find that!

Thanks Mickey!

YAY...I heard from Pherby!!
OK Carter... you need to check in as well, OK?

Hi Laurann,

We left LA on Saturday for a planned visit to my parents' home in AR prior to David's deployment. David left for VA today for a couple of days of training and then will head to Camp Lejeune in NC for 2 weeks prior to deploying.

In addition to the mandatory evacuation by St. Tammany parish where we live, the Marine Corps also has an evacuation in place. We can't go home until the Marine Corps says so. I'm just glad we are here and not in some hotel in Dallas where the rest of the Marines are. It would be miserable to deal with a hotel room for an extended period. The wind and rain from Gustav is just starting to reach us here in AR.

I spoke with Carter on Saturday and he was headed to Gulfport to spend the night and then to decide upon his further evacuation to Jacksonville. I've tried to call him several times, but all of the circuits have been busy.

Hopefully, we'll go home in a couple of days and either assess the damage or bask in the glory of no damage!!!!

Thanks for thinking of us!!!!!!!

Take Care,
Pherby

Surprise Phone call & Visit, to end 2008!

When my wife & I returned home after Christmas, she told me I’d better listen to the messages on the machine. (Knew I wouldn’t believe who was on it)

Classmate Darryl Waterbury had called. Tuesday night Darryl and his new wife Sandy, plus Sandy’s two kids came to the mountains for a visit. They were on the way to SC to visit Darryl's brother.

Hadn’t seen Darryl in over 12 years, with the exception of no hair, he’s still the same old Darryl. I had searched for Darryl when Pherby started this site and the plans for the reunion, but wasn’t able to find him. He is still living in the Cleveland Ohio area in the town of Concord Ohio.

Hopefully he’ll join the group in the near future.

Happy New Year to ALL!!
Take Care,

Nollie

PS - I'll try and post a photo of Darryl & family to 2008 pictures.
