On January 9, 2011, Pamela Wallington-patrick sent me an email to let me know that Kathleen Jeffries had passed away a few days ago. As soon as I find out more information, I will post it.

UPDATE: Kathleen worked at Welborn Academy of Science and Technology in Greensboro, NC as part of the Communities in School program. She is survived by a daughter, Kera Jeffries, of Greensboro. I believe she died on Thursday, 1/6/11. Hopefully more updates will appear in the next few days.

We ( my co-workers and boss) used to work with her and Communities in Schools and Welbourne with some of our educational programs. (Black Child Development). So we saw her quite often. We also kept in touch whenever she was ill more than usual. My boss told me yesterday that she had had a heart attack and was trying to rebound from it. She also had pnuemonia. I think she had a enough and couldnt do it anymore. We had seen her name in the paper one day and then it was gone. Only to find out yesterday, that she was cremated and that the family would be having the memorial service. Her brother, my classmate, James Jefferies "82 had just passed away on Dec. 5. Our class at that time was getting together at Darryls when we were told that news. The Jefferies family has been dealt a double blow. We will miss the both of them.
