Ardenna Widemon (Wright)

Following High School, I was married for thirteen years to a former Page High School man, (Bernard Wright Sr. c/o 73'). He pastored Soul Saving Station Independent Church at which I served as 'First Lady" for nine years. To that union was born three beautiful sons all of which attended and graduated from Page High School. Our sons left their mark at Page in the music department under the direction of Mr. Edward Kimbourough. You can see some of their musical accomplishments throughout the school on several awards housed at Page. Additionally, they all attended college and majored in music. Later, they formed a group titled 'The Wright Keys'. They released their first gospel cd in 2002. Currently, the eldest son has two solo albums on the market titled, "Mello B, My Life, My Melody' and 'Muzical Jerney'. Over the years, I have resided in Monterey CA., Washington, DC, Greensboro and Brown Summit, NC. Later, I remarried yet another 'Page Pirate Man' (Michael Stover c/o 84'). He is AMAZING! It's something about a Pirate man that makes my heart tingle.

I currently own and operate a youth leadership organization called, Lovely Ladiez & Gr8t Guyz Modeling & Leadership Academy, LLC. Our mission is to build leaders who will have a positive impact on the future. My husband, Michael and I recently renewed our wedding vows 20 years and growing strong. We traveled to Ghana, Africa for our honeymoon. We stayed there for nearly a month. It was an amazing experience.

My favorite story involves hair. I always had difficulty with styling and managing my own. When I look back at the yearbook photos, I laugh at my failed attempts to maintain my mane. Thus, I attained degrees in Cosmetic Arts and Cosmetology Instruction. I taught the subject at Guilford Technical Community College for six years. In 1998 I opened my own Hair Styling Salon, Upper Level Styling, which I currently use as a place for students to complete their Cosmetic Arts Apprentiship.

Post high school, I attained an A.A.S (General Education), A.A.S (Occupational Technology) A.A (Pre-Psychology). At Greensboro College, I attained a B.S in Psychology. Later I earned an M.S. in Counseling Education from North Carolina A&T State University. While attending college, I was very involved in various club activites, honor societies, sororities (Ladies of Pride and Leadership at GSO College and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Grad Chapter) and student leadership organizations. The pictures below showcase many of the activities in which I was invovled. Currently, am pursuing a PhD and no matter how arduos this pursuit may be, I must say that my hair is always in check and styled to perfection.

Favorite teacher would be Mrs. Culver, she taught Home Economics and Ms. Henderson; she taught math. These ladies were very sweet and kind to me. My favorite Principal would be Mr. Hayes. Believe it or not, he bought me icecream; my birthmark, almost everyday during my senior year. I saw him shortly after high school and he still remembers me; great guy. He even offered to provide a letter of recommendation when I applied to Graduate School.
