Jimmy was a terrific person with a heart of gold. We communicated a little over the years and I wish I'd been a better pen pal. We spent a lot of time together at Page and the memories are grand. I miss you Jimmy.Allison Metcalf (Allen)
This is what I remember about Jimmy Simon: He was my first boyfriend in Greensboro, NC, and, by that, I mean we held hands. I remember going through a particularly odd stretch in my family life, and when we returned from wherever it was that we were going to relocate to, Jimmy showed up at my house on Gramercy. Somehow, in his twelve year old heart, he knew things were tough. He wore a shirt that said, "Jimmy loves Allison" on its back. You know, I look back on that now, and think, what a sensitive and wonderful person: knowing so young that love expressed (and ironed-on) heals a multitude of wounds. The seeds of who he became were already bearing fruit, even as an adolescent. The world is surely a poorer place for your passing.Love,

When I think of Jimmy, nothing but good thoughts/ memories come to mind and a smile is on my face. When we were either fourteen or fifteen he and his mother picked me up from my house & we went to Carolina Circle Mall. As always Jimmy opened the door for me wherever we went like the gentleman he was. We ate at Annabell's and watched the iceskaters fall on their butts. So much fun! Jimmy was a good friend to me and we kept in touch and hung out some for a few years after high school. I hate that we didn't keep in touch more over the years and I'm sadden that I will not be able to see him at the reunion. But I also know that I will see him again one day in Heaven and that will suffice. You are truly missed Jimmy!
