LELAND — Funeral services for James Russell Rumley, 71, of Leland will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. He died October 4, 2010, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

He was a native of Dyersburg, Tenn. moving to Greenville in 1950 where he attended high school. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Korea. After his discharge, he returned to Greenville where he went to work with the Greenville Police Department retiring after 24 years as a Sergeant. He worked another 20 years in maintenance with the City of Greenville and then was employed with Delta & Pine Land in Scott until he became ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymon and Geneva Foster Rumley; and a sister, Linda Rumley Melton.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah Reckord Rumley of Leland; daughter, Sharon Rumley of Salisbury, Md.; three sons, Rusty Rumley of Brandon, Eddie Rumley of Greenville and Joey Rumley of Avon; a sister, JoAnne Mock of Greenville; six grandchildren, Patrick Lindsey Rumley, Morgan Leigh Rumley, Dylan Lee Rumley, Paoli Kaye Rumley, Lance O'Brien Suber and Cody Lake Suber; and five nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
