I was at the hospital the day Nancy died but she was unconscious when I arrived. I think I blotted the year out of my mind, but Don and I attended the funeral. I just remember the good times we had together and how she and Miss Reilly went fist-to-cuffs the first day she went on her job interview because she refused to wear a hat and gloves....she was hired because of her talents and personality and stayed with Mr. Nash's business for 12 or more years.

Nancy was a sweet girl. I saw her at a drug store in Greenville when I was visiting. My sister told me at the time that she was sick. I don't remember the incident with Miss Reilly, but I must say it must have been something!

Nancy was cute and funny and very talented. She had a hard life but kept her spirits and the spirits of those around her up. She was a devoted mother, daughter, and sister and friend. I still miss her painting in ceramics and making jokes.

My friend, Nancy Kay Auerswald Mancini, was born July 6th, 1946, and left this world, September 23, 2003 of heart failure. She had cancer, but the heart failure at the hospital was the "reason" on her death certificate. She was the mother of three adult children: Pete Roberts, Jr., Craig Roberts and Tammie Roberts Mitz, and her husband, Julius Mancini, employed by the U. S. Corps of Engineers (same as Nancy's uncle; small world). At the time of her death she was a valued employee of Sayle, Sandifer and Associates. To classmates, I apologize for the emotions at the memorial but I am just like that. I cry when I am happy, sad etc. but not as beautiful as our classmate---Marianne Robinson Love Brasfield who was at my beloved "Ole Miss" cheering the Rebs in the Regionals!!!GO REBS!!!!!

Nancy and I became reacquainted while she and Barbara
worked together at Sayle,Sandifer & Associates. I think
she and Barbara laughed and cried together over family matters. I got the abridged version when Barbara would come home and share with me. Nancy was a sweet person and will be missed!
