Wayne Dreher Obituary

Wayne Reid Dreher of Mobile, Alabama, entered into the presence of his Savior on July 26, 2025. He was 78 years old. Born on June 8, 1947, in Greenville, Mississippi. Wayne was a true son of the Mississippi Delta. It was there that he met the love of his life, Linda, and together they built a marriage grounded in faith, love and compassion that lasted 53 beautiful years.
A devoted husband, father, and friend, Wayne was a man of God who loved the Lord with all his heart. He never missed an opportunity to tell others about his Savior, his church, and his preacher. His faith was central to everything he did and was the foundation of the humility, kindness, and love he showed to everyone he met.
Wayne spent most of his career as a truck salesman; a perfect fit for his outgoing personality and genuine love for people. He was a natural friend who never met a stranger, always ready with a story, a laugh, or a word of encouragement. He was also an avid sports fan and rarely missed a game, whether it was his kids, grandkids, or anyone else competing. He loved Rocky Creek catfish, Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream, hot Krispy Kreme donuts, and any one of Linda's treats that she loved to make for him.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife Linda; his children Tonya (Bart), Kristie (Matt), and Reid (Amy); and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was the most humble, caring, and loving man many of us will ever know.
Today, we take comfort in knowing that Wayne is reunited with Granny, Granddaddy, Nanny, Papa, and Uncle Larry standing whole and joyful in the presence of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ.
In honor of his life, his family invites you to a celebration service at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama, on August 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow immediately after the service in the Fellowship Hall.
