From John G. Williams, class of 1961 in memory of John Hester

John Hester and I were both drafted on the same day from Greenville, MS, into the US Army.

On that first day while we were in line getting our shots, I noticed that JH had drifted/fainted down to the floor.

I assisted in helping pick JH back up; he was ok.   We both were assigned later to become Military Police.  Never saw JH again.

I went to Ft. Benning, GA, for my basic training.  I found out later that we both had been sent to Viet-Nam, plus we both had returned home safely.

JH was a good man, very well liked and respected by all !!!
