GREENVILLE Funeral services for Johnny K. Latham, 57, of Greenville, a security guard, will be today at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. He died of heart failure July 30, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.
Johnny was born June 6, 1945, at Chipley, Fla., to G.L. and Dorothy Latham. He moved to Greenville at an early age with his parents. He attended Greenville public schools and graduated from Greenville High School. He was employed with Day Detective Security Service. He was preceded in death by his father, G. L. "Lefty" Latham, in 1985. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Latham of Greenville; one son, Kenny Latham of Greenville; one daughter, Lisa Latham of Greenville; two sisters, Nadine (Wayne) Brasier of Greenville and Hortence Genua of Silver Springs, Md.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Greenville.
The Rev. Ricky Peebles and the Rev. Patrick Sturgill will officiate.
