David and his sweet wife, Brenda, were such a wonderful couple and seemed to enjoy their time together. David liked to hunt and had a room full of "BIG" game he had hunted over the years. He and Brenda also enjoyed hunting for smaller "Delta" style game later. When we would recall and laugh about some of David's early antics Brenda would just smile and say "that was in his previous life". They seemed truly happy and enjoyed each other so much. Their happiness was cut short by David's tragic death. Brenda has since remarried and I wish for her much happiness and God's blessings. We miss you David and are sorry you were taken from us so soon.
As the years flew by, I remained in touch with David as well as James Nowell as we were all involved in the marine industry one way or another. David helped me when I had a customer's barge that needed fiberglass work and often gave me a ride out to the fleet to survey someones barge(s) and stayed there until I was done. James would call me from time to time to survey some of his equipment on the Mississippi and other inland waterways locations.
I have been a Marine Surveyor now going on forty-one years but Beverly and I both plan to retire the end of February, 2015. I think of and miss both David and James and have been fortunate to have them as friends.
