Just returned from one very long slow drive from Jackson through the back roads with my crop/water looking husband. I took my Federal Project project to the Mississippi State Department of Education and invited Leroy to tag along. We turned off at the Bentonia Satartia exit toward Delta City to check out the new oil wells on the William's land in Mechanicsville(that is how it is pronounced but not sure about the spelling). They are all three producing and they are in the process of putting down pipelines to all three. Our precious friend Wiley Williams (93) is now the proud owner. Did not take pictures but the water is lapping the road in several places there. Water is on beautiful corn and cotton and beans. Many crops ar under water. Stopped at two country stores to get a cold drink along the way. Yes, some of us do still ride the Delta backroads and enjoy a cold beer. It's a Delta thing.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone on Friday night.
