Don and I were best friends from our Junior year of high school up and until his time of death.  There are just too many stories to tell about some of the things he and I got into it would take a book to write them all down.  Don was always thinking about other people rather than himself and I think that was what made him so special.  Yes he was big and rough and was a heck of a good football player at both Greenville High and Mississippi Delta but Don had a soft side as well.  Don had asked that I be one of his pallbearers and I can truthfully say I was proud and honored to do this final thing for my friend Don.  May he rest in peace !

I think I recall a family member wanting photos/information concerning Don Tharp. I have some newspaper photos and some information related to the E.E Bass football game with Solomon Junior High on September 10, 1966 when Bass won 14 to 7. Contact me and I will share with you. Jim "Jimmy" Griffin Class of 1970.
