Graduated from Limestone College with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
Married Jim Brookie in 1984. He was a single father raising his daughters alone. We have five other children including these two daughters for a total of seven children. I worked at Liberty Life Insurance Company until we moved to Springfield Missouri for two years with 3M Company where Jim has worked for the past 33 years as an electrical engineer. I decided then to be a stay at home mom. We returned back to Greenville after only two years in Missouri purchasing a home in Mauldin. I continued to stay at home taking care of our children for 18 years while becoming very involved in volunteering at my children's schools and active on the Elementary, Middle and High School PTA. Seven years ago, when our youngest daughter started school I started working at a Montessori school with our oldest daughter who was a teacher there and now I am presently employed by Five Oaks Academy Montessori School in Simpsonville where I have worked for the past 5 years. I am currently the PTA President at Mauldin Middle School and the Membership Chairperson at Mauldin High School.
I am an active member of Mauldin United Methodist Church for the past 21 years. I am a youth counselor and drive the church bus on many events with the youth and women of the church. This summer I will be going on my 5th mission trip to Peru to serve orphaned boys who have been put on the street there to live. I am also going to Tanzania, Africa for the first time this summer on a mission trip. My children go with me on mission trips in South Carolina as well as Peru. I am blessed to be able to go and serve there in local and foreign mission areas.
I play team tennis, volleyball and softball as much as I have time for.
