Let's see... the short story is: I received a Business degree at ETSU, and then stayed home with my children while they were young. In 1999, I decided to go back to school to get my teaching certificate. My first semester teaching full-time was the fall of 2001. Sound familiar? I taught a year at Travis Elementary followed by 7 years at Lamar Elementary in Greenville. The first 6 years were in 4th grade, and the last two I have taught 5th grade math.

My favorite times were definitely the band trips, whether for football games or for contest or floor show! I lived for it! My favorite teacher quote that I remember was, "Better late than never, but better never late". Anyone know who said that? The funny thing is when I was subbing at New Horizons before completing my teaching certificate, she also was subbing there as well. Strange feeling!
