Learning of Tracy's passing really hit me hard. I just wish I'd picked up the phone and called his mom to get his number any one of the many times I thought of it over the years.
When my Dad told me that Tracy had died, I was on an airplane coming home from Costa Rica and I couldn't even accept it. I remember Tracy as being such a fun and sweet person. He taught me how to two step! I miss him very much and wish that I had not let him slip away as my friend.
Tracy and I shared a lot of things, we were one of the first 18 years olds our senior year, our birthday's were just 2 days apart. We would go out disco dancing almost every saturday while waiting on all the rest to catch up. I saw him at least 4 times a year, but was still shocked to read his obituary in the paper. I really miss my birthday pal.
Tracy was one of my best friends from Junior High School through High School. After High School, we lost touch as we both moved on with our lives. I spoke with his mom after his passing and was able to attend his memorial and interment. I miss him and the opportunity to have a continued friendship with him. I think often of the fun we had driving around in his snazzy chocolate Camaro, laughing and listening to music, and the few (very few-okay, maybe only one!) times he let me drive that snazzy chocolate Camaro, yelling at me to slow down on the potholes! He was an amazing, caring person. I will miss him forever.
Tracy and I shared a few classes together. I got to know Tracy better later in our lives. We worked for the same company up to his death. He worked in one group and I in another. We saw each other pretty much everyday. Our conversations seemed to always be about Greenville, our high school days or his parents. He was loved and respected by he co-workers. It was a shock to all of us when we heard of his death. On a brighter note....... He still had that love for cars. I can't remember how many different cars he had. I remember a Mercedes, Porsche and I think a BMW. I know he changes a least one because he wrecked the Porsche.:) The one thing I will always remember was his quick wit and sense of humor. He could be having a bad day but always had a quick retort and make you laugh.
Tracy was a good friend to me in high school. He hated going to my house cause it was a rock road and that camaro would get dirty. I didnt keep up with him much after graduation. But I have some wonderful memories with him and Leslin. I miss him and wish we had stayed closer. I remember callin him when my twins were born and he did not believe it till they came to the hospital to see. He was a great dancer. The dinner parties we had at my house were some wonderful memories. He was a great and funny guy. He is missed.
I transferred from Austin Elementary to Lamar Elementary half way through 1st grade, to Mrs. Kirby's class. I sat next to Tracy the first few days, and he and I became friends. His grandmother lived just around the corner from my house, and whenever he would visit her, we would play together, talk about girls, and draw funny pictures. I was always the fat kid in class, but Tracy never paid that any attention. He liked me for me, and not for what I looked like. I was shocked to learn that he had passed. I'll miss you buddy.
