everyday you meet people that are unhappy with what they have chosen in life, i was so grateful to have known him gain his goal, i remember talking to him about his jobs with disney. Everytime when my job is not going my way, i just think about him and how happy he was to have his.
I have such fond memories of Jimmy, from battling back and forth for first clarinet in Jr. High, to going with he and Todd Barnhart during Ms. Graves class to get donuts in high school. He was so full of life and fun, and is greatly missed.
I had no idea Jimmy had passed away until a couple of years ago when my son wanted to walk through the old Bethel cemetery and look for old gravestones to see how old the cemetery was. You can imagine my shock when one of the first stones I saw as I walked through the gate was Jimmy's. I just stood there unmoving. Jimmy was the happy-go-lucky guy that everyone loved. He never met a stranger and he was kind to everyone. I remember him bouncing around with those blonde curls trying to get us all motivated to do something fun. We used to eat lunch in Junior High School and he was the funniest guy. Every time I go to Greenville and I pass the Bethel Cemetery, I always look over to see his well cared for stone and the bench that marks his place and I think of him and I miss him.
When I first saw Jimmy after college it was me watching him on some "Today/Morning Show" teaching the host tap! He was Austin Kirby at that point and still incredibly talented. He was my acting buddy in High School and best friend. I tracked him down and I was glad that I did. Just when I was ready to share my life story with him, he was gone. I've never held back from sharing my life now, because you just never know.
Jimmy's niece and my son were in the 3 year old class at Discovery School together. I saw Jimmy at the kids' class Christmas party in '89. I asked him if he was coming to the 10 year reunion and he told me that he wasn't sure. It wasn't too long after that when he passed away. Jimmy was always a lot of fun and is greatly missed.
I didn't hang out with Jimmy, but he was one of those I always remembered. Kind of hard to miss, our Jimmy -- full of fun, full of love, full of life. I found out about his passing from a workmate in time to go down to the funeral home and pay my respects, only to be told that only family could come in. The young man I spoke to there took my yellow rose and promised to pass it on.
I first met Jimmy when he came up to me and said, "Hey, isn't it great that our parents are dating?" (they are still married, today!) He and I became instant buddies. We had so much fun at holidays. We always found something fun to do. He had such a giving heart. I never heard him run anyone down. Whenever we were together, he lifted my spirits! He had so many talents! He is truly missed by his friends and family, but never forgotten!!

Jimmy was always fun to be around. We had good times together in cheerleading.
