Silence (isn't golden)

You people sure are a lot quieter than you were back at GHS.

I just got the email notification that this website existed, great idea. Looking through the classmate profile list I see all these names that I know...but danged if I can remember the faces that go with most of them. That must be a sign that I'm getting old.

Another sign is that I'm in here talking to myself. <sheesh!>

Reading the names in the 'In Memory' section was really sad. From my count we've lost 56 classmates over the years. That's pretty sobering.

Oh well, guess I'll meander out of here. I'm sort of getting tired of reading my own babbling.

Later y'all.

PS. Since we can upload files to this forum, the same as most UBB boards, you folks need to post some pictures of yourselves and families. I promise looking at family photos won't bore us.  Actually, I'm pretty curious to see what my other classmates produced from their loins.

Hi Ray!

Glad you found us!  I've only been working on the website a week so I still have some work to do--like uploading senior pictures from the 71 annual and post to each classmate so your memory can be jogged.

I was quiet in high school!!  I was what you would call a wallflower.  I was so embarrassed  by my height (5'11") that I just wanted to be invisible.  Needless to say I got over it and now I'm not quiet.

I did post a family picture under my profile.  Check it out.  You probably won't remember me but that's ok.  We were still in the Class of 71!!!!

Later!

Gail

Hi Gail,

I'd love to say I remember you from your picture, but if I did I'd be lying. That says more about my memory than it does your popularity, plus the fact that we've changed so much. You have a great looking, and large, family. I need to scan some pictures so that I can finish my profile.

Oh hey, being tall isn't a bad thing for a girl. My wife, Bonnie, is 6'...or as she like to say 5'12". She was the first female to get a full athletic scholarship to Georgia Tech. She played basketball and graduated in 3 years. She still has 8 records in the book that haven't been broken, she had 16 at one time. All this before the 3-point shot. Bonnie was inducted into the GT Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991 along with Mark Price, John Salley, Pat Swilling and a few others (guys). She was also chosen as an ACC Legend and was presented that honor at the 2008 ACC Tournament. Yeah I'm proud of her. Can ya tell?

So all that bragging to say, being tall can be cool. I'm only ½" taller than Bonnie.

WOW!!!  Very impressive and you have every right to brag!  Hope I get to meet her at the reunion.  You are planning to attend, aren't you????
