Two grandchildren Naomi (age 7) born August 2016. Mariah (age 3) fostered by my daughter and her husband since she was eight days old and adopted by them.)

After graduating from Michigan State University, I worked for Catholic Social Services and later at Bethany Christian Services as a counselor. Then at age 26, my husband and I moved overseas to Beirut, Lebanon and later to Cyprus as staff with the Navigators (a Christian service organization) for four years. I lived in Colorado Springs and Syracuse, NY when our children were born. Then we lived in Fairfax, Virginia for over 20 years. I earned a Masters degree in Social Work in 1997 and worked as a therapist for the Women's Center, home study coordinator and post adoption advisor for America World Adoption Association. My last position was with Fairfax County Department of Family Services as a social worker in Parenting Education Programs. My husband and I moved to Leland, North Carolina in December 2011. We enjoy living in the just 35 minutes from five beaches. I enjoy being in a Book Club and women's bible study. I am actively involved at Port City Community Church. I love to travel. Some favorite vacations include Australia, Croatia, France, Caribbean, and Hawaii especially Kauai.
