Arthur Joe Blackwell, 59, passed away at his home in Barnwell on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012. Born in Allendale March 19, 1953, he was the son of James William Blackwell and the late Adrene Creech Blackwell. He was a long hauler for Wall Trucking Company. He was also enlisted in the U.S. Navy for 11 years. Funeral services were held Oct.15 at 2 p.m. at the Great Salkehatchie Baptist Church, with the Rev. Fred Orr officiating. Burial followed in the Great Salkehatchie Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mole Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Great Salkehatchie Cemetery Fund. Survivors include his father, James William Blackwell of Barnwell; brother, James William (Beth) Blackwell II of Chicago Ill.
