I remember Bart as one of the nicest, kindest, funniest people I've had the pleasure to know.  I'm very sorry to hear about his passing.  Thank goodness for our wonderful memories!

Barton was one of the best friends I had in my time in Gitmo.  I remember the day he finally got that back brace off for good, and we all celebrated with a big party at Windmill beach.  We got in a lot of trouble together, but always just having fun, never hurting anyone.  I was shocked to hear of his passing a few years ago, and on hot summer days I can still remember him trying to teach my clumsy fingers how to play the guitar.  Rest in peace, old friend.  - Your buddy Dufresne

Mom and I were just talking about Barton the other day. So, sad to hear of his parting. He was a very good photographer. He was my money man when I hussled pool at the Teen Club.
