NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Frank L. Curry was born on March 19, 1933, in Villa Grove to Clarence L. Curry and Ruth Barnett Curry. He passed away in New Braunfels, Texas, on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, surrounded by his three children, Cary Eileen Curry (James Michael) Skinner, Martha Maria Curry (Carlton) Andrews and Frank Bernard Curry.

Frank met his wife, Martha Luisa Morlote, (who passed in 1998), in Guantanamo, Cuba, while stationed there as U.S. Navy jet pilot. Frank received his Bachelor of Science in botany and master's degree from Eastern Illinois University. He was a proud member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

A man of many talents, Frank was a career teacher with DODDS and taught biology, chemistry and physics in Cuba (12 years), Spain, Germany, Azores and Okinawa. Frank was an avid beekeeper, currency trader and salsa and tango dancer, and was fluent in Spanish. His other hobbies included ham radio, tennis and travel.

His family will forever miss his charisma and adventurous spirit. He also generously supported the release of the majority of Martha's family from Cuba.
