Linda Rose Fahey, age 66, of Canonsburg, passed away at home peacefully with family by her side all the way up until Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Born on March 31, 1950, she was the loving wife of Eugene Fahey; immensely loved and amazing mother of Eugene Fahey Jr., Shawn (Greta) Fahey, Mike Fahey, and Katherine (Dustin) Chenney; cherished grandmother of Shawn Jr. and Ethan Fahey, Kelsey, Deegan, and Dempsy Chenney; survived by many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews. She was the daughter of Paul Songer and the late Eleanor Denman. 

Born in Lackawanna, New York, she met the love of her life Eugene Fahey at age 16 and they reached their 49th wedding anniversary on January 20th of this year.  They had their 4 amazing children and 5 amazing grandchildren and she would have loved even more. 

Her academic achievement were many and varied, they include an Associate in Science Dietetic Technology at Broward County Community College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1978.  She earned her Bachelors of Arts at California University of Pennsylvania in 1983.  She continued her eduction and earned her law degree and doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law in 1986 in which she graduated 2nd in her class.  She then furthered her eduction even more through online courses to become an Elementary Teacher and a Reading Specialist.

She traveled and worked around the world.  She loved experiencing this as part of her journey here on earth.  Everything she undertook, she was great at and she was always giving and doing for others.  She was a dietician and waitress and she was great at both as she was in everything else.  She worked as a top notch attorney in Washington, Pennsylvania from 1986-2000.  She opened her own law firm, Law Offices of Linda R. Fahey.  She then took a job where her husband was located as a secretary, then a Head Start teacher, and then a Kindergarten teacher at W.T. Sampson Elementary School in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba on the Federal Naval Air Station from 2000-2004.  She also taught a college Humanities course here and she was tough but exceptional and received a standing ovation from all of her students on her last day. After this, she her husband, and her 2 oldest grandsons went to Keflavic, Iceland where she worked as a 1st grade teacher at A.T. Mahan Elementary School on the Federal Naval Air Station from 2004-2008.  She then went to Seoul, South Korea with her husband and 2 oldest grandsons and taught 1st grade at Seoul American Elementary School on the United States Army Base Yongsan Garrison from 2006-2010. She then came back to the United States and worked as a Reading Specialist at Kingsolver Elementary School at Fort Knox, Kentucky on the United States Army Base from 2010-2014.  She also worked in real estate buying, fixing, renting, and selling houses, and passed this on to her children.  She then retired at her home with her husband, daughter, son-in-law and their 3 children in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania in 2014.  Even at this time she continued to watch children and tutor with her daughter. 

She loved!  She loved with a passion and spirit.  She loved children.  She loved to read.  She loved to read to children and especially her grandchildren.  She loved to teach.  She loved food, she loved to cook, and more than that she loved to cook for others and especially for everyone she loved.  She loved fixing and picking things out for houses.  She loved traveling and making beautiful experiences.  She loved dreaming and planning.  She loved being spiritual.  She loved walking and being outdoors.  She loved flowers, plants, and gardening.  She loved loving.

More than anything else she loved, she loved her family-her husband, her children, and her grandchildren.  There was a love in her heart and life like no other.  Her love, beauty, kindness, sweetness, strength, intelligence, passion, friendship, spirituality, selflessness, her smile, and her laugh will be remembered and cherished by her family forever.
