Charles (Chuck) Edward Ryan, Jr., 75, was born to Charles Edward Ryan, Sr., a Navy medic, and Gertrude Carroll Ryan, a devoted mother, on March 11, 1937 in Springfield Massachusetts. Fifteen years later, his family was joined by younger brother, Michael. Chuck always said that growing up, his father was his hero and his brother, his best friend. 

Chuck grew up on various military bases including Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba, where he completed High School, and forged lifelong relationships and experiences that shaped the remainder of his life. Chuck enlisted in the US Army in 1960 and continued to serve his country until he retired to Crescent Beach, Florida, in 1983. 

Chuck is survived by his two children, Tanya and Jeffery, five grandchildren, Mikaley, Cayden, John-Michael, Catherine and Brady, his brother, Michael, niece, Jessica, and many loved ones, and friends. Chuck was called home peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2012 in St. Augustine, Florida, with his son by his side.
