Lynwood Sutcliffe

Lynwood W. Sutcliffe, 83, of Bourne formerly of Onset passed away Friday March 6, at Falmouth Hospital. Lynwood was the longtime companion of Eleanor DeCourcy of Bourne. He was born in Fall River the son of the late George A. and Marion B. (Murphy) Sutcliffe.

Mr. Sutcliffe attended Wareham Public Schools, Tabor Academy, UMass Amherst and Arizona State. He had a Masters in the Natural Sciences and taught in many South Eastern Massachusetts communities and retired from the U.S. Government School System from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He was a three sport athlete at UMass and was an avid sports fan, loved the ocean and Life Member of the Wareham Lodge of Elks. His favorite childhood memories are those of delivering milk with his father in Onset for Producers Dairy.

Mr. Sutcliffe in addition to Eleanor was survived by many loving relatives and friends. He was the brother of the late George H. Sutcliffe and Barbara Armstrong.

Mr Sutcliffe was one of the most interesting teachers I ever had! He sure kept us all entertained with his stories! I especially remember the one where he drove his vw off the brookland bridge! Sorry to hear of your passing but I have an idea you are keeping them entertained in heaven!
