Roy Garland Harrell, Jr., 61, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 while skiing in Aspen, Colorado. Born in Norfolk, Virginia he came here during his high school years from Jacksonville, Florida, graduating from Boca Ciega High School. He graduated with a bachelor's degree (with honors) from the Citadel in 1966 and received his law degree cum laude in 1969 from Washington and Lee University School of Law.

He was a Captain in the Army from 1969-1971.

He was an Attorney and Partner with Holland & Knight Law Firm, St. Petersburg. He was a Guardian Ad Litem. He is survived by his wife, Virginia S.; a daughter, Stacey L. Springsteen, St. Petersburg; a son, Michael T. Harrell, St. Petersburg; three grandchildren, Maxwell Forrest Springsteen, Cooper Garland Springsteen and Stephanie Harrell.
