Shirley was a great person, in school and afterwards. She went to TCJC with me. She helped get me my job with the Justice Dep Bureau of Prisons. She passed while I was stationed in Texarkana so I did not get to pay my last respects. She was a good friend and a good Officer. I still think of her and miss her!
Really nice. Often quiet. She was friends with and dated Dennis Talkington, and she and I were friends too. Her best friend for a while was Sally Hatchett. Shirley came to 2 or 3 reunions in a row around 1988? Each time weaker--with MS and Muscular Dystrophy. Both. Last time in a wheel chair. Her husband phoned me a couple years later to say she'd died. He loved her. Corpus Christi I think. I'm glad she had him I'm her life,and that I've had her in my life.
