The Pryor boys (9 I think), were all hard workers, some Golden Glove champions, I remember Frank, Alvin, Ike, and Ted, the others were older. Momma Pryor raised them right. Never forget the time I hade to pick up Alvin's girl friend for him, because her family would not let her date him. Guess it worked out, think they ended up getting married.
Every one of the Pryor boys fought in the golden gloves, several were local champs, some were state champs and one won a national championship. Alvin was always quite and unassuming. A very thoughtful guy, I could always sit and talk to Alvin for hours cause we knew so many of the same people, my older brother of five years had fought in the Golden Gloves and knew his older brother and his mom rode to work with my mom, I think she drove and mom rode with her. Ms. Pryor and her husband and my parents went on cruises several times. I really didn't know Alvin had died, hadn't seen him in probably 3 years. God bless you Alvin, I lnow you worked with the younger guys in the Golden Gloves program, you deserved more than more time, you are missed my friend.
Yes, Alvin could sometimes be quiet, but he was always involved with what was going on. He attended many, if not most of our reunions. We had good times talking about the Pryor family and the extended family, some of which I had as students when I was teaching and coaching at HHS.
