I've been working with the reunion committee since last Spring. Unfortunately, by the time things got going, it was too late to get the reunion together for the Summer. As Dan stated, the biggest feedback issue for this reunion is that reunion should be in the Summer. I think the committee has done a great job in pulling this together, and I applaud their efforts. With that said, I do have this one observation: For those who are not aware, there is a gathering every month at Ryan's for all graduates of all high schools in the Hamilton/Fairfield area from any year. Most of the committee attend these gatherings. For them, they see a great many of the "locals" every month, so the reunion may not seem to be so "special". However, a lot of our classmates are no longer "locals". Many live a long distance from Hamilton, and have families and commitments of their own. While it's no big deal for a local to come to a gathering just about any time of year, for those who live further away it can be a challenge. And let's face it, Hamilton doesn't have the greatest weather in the late Fall and Winter. To me, the reunion is primarily a chance to see, speak with, and catch up with those classmates that I haven't seen in several years, not just another gathering with those I see on a regular basis. To that end, I believe it is important to do everything we can to make the reunion as convenient as possible for the "non-locals", so we can get as much of the remaining class together as possible.
