Spent 9 years in college earning BS in Electrical Engineering (General Motors Institute), MBA (U. of Michigan) and JD (Harvard Law School). Married Susan in Michigan in 1974, approaching 45th anniversary in 2019. Joined and became Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Boston office, then helped open the Chicago office. Fun fact: hired into BCG by Mitt Romney along with another young consultant, Benjamin Netanyahu. Left BCG to found Owens Strategy Group, providing management consulting to large corporations including Kraft Foods. Joined Kraft Foods in 1997 and became Executive Vice President of Global Strategy & Business Development. In 2013, co-founded Boardwalk Frozen Treats which owns the rights to distribute Baskin-Robbins ice cream to grocery stores. Lived in Ann Arbor, Boston, Chicago and now Bonita Springs FL.
