Jim Deiotte

I attended Ball State University my Frosh Year, I went on to Roosevelt University Chicago Musical College my Soph year, then Indiana University where I graduated. I did Masters work at Roosevelt, Northwestern, University of New York at Buffalo, and so on. I have post graduate studies in Music Technology, a number of hours in Counseling towards a second masters degree, and I am a frequent workshop presenter in voice and choral conducting in various venues. In addition to teaching at St. Joseph's Collegiate I have worked over the years at the University Levels in the Buffalo Area, the professional and community musical theater level as a music director, and my students have enjoyed great success in teaching, on Broadway, in the Opera, and as professional conductors.
I believe that NONE of this would have happened had it not been for the blessings of my teachers and colleagues at Our lady of Perptual Help Grade school and Morton High school.

WHO could imagine that a young lad who couldn't act his way out of a paper bag - that Mr. Edwards was SOOO stressed that he yelled... "Deiotte you are bastardizing that part!"... would one day become a specialist in that very field and prepare more than one person, including a number of leads, chorus, and one of the youngest conductor on broadway - Mr. Edwards and Mr. Patterson gave me my start, and here I am passing it on. I can think of lots of things funny I guess, but I am left with overwhelming gratitude.
