Lorraine just called with a good idea of plaques for Robbie Millhorn and Bob Lacross. Something for their grave site. A memorial from our class. What do you guys think? Lorraine another thing I was thinking. They have them cheaper out at the Flea Market in Wintersville. Theres a guy set up out there who does them beautifully. My sister thinks around $80 for a decent size.

Lorraine let me know what you find out. Sorry for the phone conversation. This cold will NOT go away! lol

Those stones are really nice at the flea market. I was also thinking of a plaque for their parents. I still need the parents adddress for rob and Bob. Lori your sister said you had Rob's. Can you forward it to me.

Everyone please don't forget to send in your monies for the dinner.

The plaques with a photo and engraving 7"x9" would be roughly $30 a piece at wintersville trophy shop if any one has any other ideas for Bob and Rob.

I have Rob's dad's address. I also have his mom's address. I ran into her in Steubenville a couple of weeks ago and let her know what was going on with the reunion. She was touched that we were doing something to remember Rob. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Bob's family?

Ill ask Deb she might still be in touch with Bobs family.

Another thing we have to remember. If were getting plaques to actually give the family. Robbies family is a divorced family so one for mom and one for dad. I dont know about Bobs.

I got some quote out at the flea market for stones. The other question about the stones is this. Would we have to get permission from the family to put the stones on their graves? Maybe certain cemetary rules would apply. Or are we thinking of playing these on the grounds of the school as a memorial?

Any ideas?

There probably are cemetery restrictions. Good point regarding the spilt families. I don't think getting two would be a problem. Memorial at the school could get touchy. Only because there have been others before our class that have lost classmates and the school is now an elementary school. Not sure how the Board would see it.

An option could be that we donate a tree to be planted in honor of all past classmates of Stanton and Edison North and have a plaque placed at the site?

Anyone???

I kinda like the tree/plaque idea.

I definately like the tree/plaque idea. The principal might be able to give us the ok but it will probably have to go to the Board. They should not have a problem with it but who knows with them.

I know that Bob's mother passed away a few years ago. I don't know if his sisters are in this area anymore.

Tree Plaque idea sounds great! I know you wanted the parents address. Was that to invite them to something? Or just to have it for whatever it is we plan to do?

05/19/09 02:56 PM #103

Bobbi Blackburn (DeArdo)

To invite them to the reunion. I know that they probably won't come, but I figured the gesture would be nice. If they do come i didn't think we would charge them. We just wanted them to know that the class has not forgotten them.

I will stop at the District office and speak to someone or Aaron maybe you can run over and initiate the idea and check out the grounds where the best place would be to place a tree.

That sounds like a good task for the class President.

Yea I can look into that but, I am willing to bet that we will have to attend a board meeting and present it to the board.

Off the subject a little, but there's only one thread... With regards to missing classmates, I see Kevin DeGarmo and his family every week at church. I'll remind him of the reunion. I don't call him "MNewt" very often, but he laughs when I do :P

Eric Emery lives in Knoxville, I think. If you sent a card to State Route 213, Toronto, OH 43964 with his name on it, he'd likely get it.

Fantastic site, by the way!

Joyce actually got me an address for Eric Emery and I think I sent Kevins to a Toronto address.

Yea ,I figure we will have to attend a meeting, all the political BS

Coincidentally, I ran into James Kennedy today. I invited him to the reunion, but he wasn't sure he'd make it.
