Hi Everyone:
For those interested and who can make it, I am having a planning committee meeting on December 27th at 6pm. The meeting will be at my parents' home in Yemassee. We can discuss reunion plans and make some decisions that can be shared with everyone for our 20th reunion.
Please let me know if you can attend. I'll send out more information as December approaches.
If you need to reach me, my mobile number is 919.605.0148.

See you soon.
Tanya

Love Andrea's ideas.

While I want to meet everyone's family; I do think it's very important for us to have some adult time as well so that we can reminisce about the days before life and its responsibilities came crashing in. The banquet and cruise sound like the perfect way to bookend the family picnic. This is going to be a blast!

Hey everyone,

I am looking forward to the reunion and seeing everyone that I haven't seen in 20 years. It seems like yesterday I was in class with Mrs. Dunbar or Mrs. Miller and laughing with Coach Strother or Coach Cope. Well we have a lot of catching up to do. I will put a picture of my wife and 4 girls up later.

Everything sounds nice. I am ready. The only thing is I would like for everyone to meet the girls. And do we have an alternative to being outside in case it rains, snows, tornado (smile). In short if I don't have to I don't want to be outside. Just a thought. (smile)

Hey,

It's me again. If you know someone that has not responded yet, contact them and let them know about the website so they can have a chance to be there as well. I would like to see some more pictures from you guys. Just looking at the pictures posted brought back so many memories. I will get some pictures up this week.

Ok I have added some pictures, not of myself because I have not taken any yet on the digital camera. I hate taking pictures. But you can look at the most beautiful family in the world now. All of them are there Natasha, Kristen, Alisa, Katelyn, and Jocelyn. I will get some pictures of me up soon. I gained at leat 50 pounds since 89 so don't be amazed. Holla

Happy Holidays Class of '89. I wanted to remind you that I am having a planning/decision meeting on Saturday, December 27th at 4pm. Instead of having the meeting at my parents home, I"ve decided to have it at a local building in Yemassee that is located at 55 Railroad Avenue, Yemassee. If you are on Highway 68 in Yemassee (the main highway between Hampton and Yemassee, (also accessible via I-95), head east on Highway 68 toward the train station in Yemassee (as if you are traveling from Hampton to Beaufort). Cross over the railroad tracks, but instead of going straight, as if you were headed to Beaufort, make a left onto Wall Street. You will see the train station on your left. Once on Wall Street make a right onto Railroad Avenue. Once on RailRoad Avenue, you will pass a white block house on your left, then you will see a yellow building on your left (this is 55 Railroad Avenue). Its pretty easy to find but if you have any trouble please call me at 919-605-0148. Please let me know if you plan to attend.
Let's finalize our plans for the reunion, pick a date and get the information to our classmates. I"m looking forward to seeing those who can attend on next Saturday.
Thanks, Tanya

Hi All, Mark your calendars for September 18 and 19, 2009 for our 20th high school reunion. I"ll send out more details in the next week or so, but I wanted to get everyone those dates.

Thanks, Tanya

Hey everybody,
Sorry I missed the meeting. Hopefully all the plans were finalized without any difficulty. I can't wait to see everyone and their families. I get to see some of you pretty regularly and I keep in touch by email with others often. I can't wait to catch up with everyone. For those of you who know about my MS(multiple scelrosis) it is doing me pretty bad right now. I have lost most of the vision in my left eye. I see siloettes but that is about all. This has been going on since Thanksgiving. I have faith that it is not going to be permanent. I now have a date to really have to get my sight back so I can see if everyone has changed (gray hair, love-handles, etc) and all the kids. Love and Happy New Year, Michelle

Which home game is homecoming? Is it to late for everyone to change their calendars to make it to Hampton another weekend besides the 18th and 19th? I am close enough to Hampton that I am okay with whatever is decided. By the way, I am starting to get some of my vision back in my left eye! I am starting to see some colors now. Switching topics, I talked with Tara on Tuesday at a basketball game. She is teaching at PHA. I told her to get on this website and she just laughed. She said to tell everyone "hello". Her daughter, Janie, and Hannah were playing against each other. (Lord, it so strange sitting on opposite sides of the court cheering for different teams) During half-time they were playing the song "Oh, Mickey you're so fine...you're so fine you could blow my mind.." Tara and I were both singing and dancing around .... my brother (Mickey) pointed it out. Glad to know we haven't changed much - LOL

I hope that this email finds everyone doing well. The last message that I sent out, asked if there was a strong preference in changing the date of the class reunion from September 18 and 19 to another date, so the class could attend a football before the dance/social.

Based on the responses that I received, the majority of the responses were not wed to the idea of attending a football game before the social/dance. With that said, our reunion will be held on September 18 and 19, 2009. Our theme will be "1989-2009: Its Our Time" (credit given to Marcella Heyward-Evans for our theme).

On the night of September 18 will we have a dance/social at the Shriner Club in Varnville/Hampton. On this night, we will invite the classes of 1985-1988 to come out and socialize with our class. On September 19th, we will ask you to "pack a lunch" and bring your families out to Lake Warren. The night of the 19th, we will take a dinner cruise out of Savannah. The dinner cruise has come highly recommended from classmates and other graduates of WHHS.

I will confirm the price next week with the dinner cruise company and send out an email so we all can include this cost in our respective budgets. The cost will be a per person amount and include your admission into the social/dance on the 18th and your dinner on the cruise on the 19th.

If enough of us are interested, I can inquire with a local bus company about chartering a bus to take us to Savannah for the dinner cruise. That will give usn more time together and definitely bring back memories and stories of our senior class trip and that bus ride. And this way, hopefully know one will miss the boat this time (Harry Jenkins and MIchael Riley-smile). I"ll inquire about the cost and we can decide from there.

Since discussions have begun about the class reunion I have spoken to classmates that I haven't seen or talked to since graduation night!!. Personally, I"m very excited about the plans and I"m looking forward to seeing everyone.

Take Care, Tanya

I wanted to give you information on the dinner cruise. If we have at least 100 people attending the dinner cruise on September 19, we can have a private charter of the Spirit of Charleston, out of Charleston (not Savannah as I had previously said. Sorry about that mix up). With this option we would have a 2.5 hour cruise around the Charleston Harbor, food, music and dancing. With the private charter option we have food stations that allow us to get our own food, mingle with each other, dance or just hold up at the bar. The cost is $65 per person and includes the food, gratuity and a DJ for our listening and dancing pleasure. Remember there is a $10 per person charge for the dance/social that we are doing on September 18th.

Please let me know if we would have 100 people intersted in doing the dinner cruise so we can have the private charter. We would also need to start sending in our money so a deposit can be made with the company to secure our charter. Please start sending in your money so we can have all money in by May 15th. The classcreator website has a paypal option available for making payments. For those who do not have a pay pal account, please send in your money to Suzette Wright, 501 Pelham Avenue, Apt. O302, Columbia, SC 29209. If you send checks to Suzette, please make your the check payable to WHHS Class of "89.

Also, I've made some calls about chartering a bus. If we decide to charter a bus, the cost would be approximately $17-$20 per person to cover the cost of the bus. With the dinner cruise, chartered bus and social/dance, we are looking at about $95 per person. If enough people like the bus idea, great, we do it and get enough buses to accomdate everyone or we scratch the bus and everyone drives to the location for the dinner cruise.

Please call or email you if you have questions.

Thanks, Tanya

Everyone needs to send their money in if they want us to have a class reunion. I can not believe that we might miss having our 20th reunion.

I'm even afraid to put this on here, in fear that I missed it BUT.....what is going on with the Reunion? I haven't heard anything since we were told that our money was going to be refunded. Could someone please let me know what is going on. Email me at purplescgirl@yahoo.com and I will get the message on my Blackberry. I hope I didn't miss it.
